Palais du Parlement de Bretagne
A symbol of and backdrop to Breton history, the Parlement building is also a testimony to 17th century royal and Parisian decor. It was built to plans by Salomon de Brosse, architect of the Palais du Luxembourg in Paris, and its prestigious function can be seen in its very walls. The Grand'chambre, the crowning glory of the exquisite interior decor is a unique example of pictorial art from the period, with French-style ceilings and sculpted and gilded wood panelling.
