La Chambre au Loup is a valley located in the North East of the forest of Paimpont, only 1 mile (2 km) from the lake of Trémelin. The stream that flows past the foot of cliffs rising to heights of 114 ft. (35 m) in places is flanked by 70 hectares of wooded moors. The valley was created by the collapse of land after crevasses appeared in the folds of the schist and by the erosion caused by the river. The scenery in the valley is breathtaking, delighting visitors for its mystery and beauty. This is a grandiose area, filled with colors - the purplish-red of the brambles, the golden gorse and broom, the purple heather and bronze lichen.
